Meadowbrook provides this type of long-term care for those who feel they can no longer manage at home.

We understand that giving up your home and moving into residential care can be an unsettling experience especially when everyone seems to have a story about a “bad” care home! That is certainly not the case with Meadowbrook. A registered, private care home on the same site since 1987; we pride ourselves on providing a family atmosphere that encourages independence as much as possible whilst offering the practical, emotional and social support each resident is looking for.

Practical support can include:

Bathing

Many residents choose to live at Meadowbrook for the simple reason that they want to be in company instead of social isolation and/or they no longer want to be responsible for staying in their own home with all the responsibilities and maintenance that entails.

Residential care is all about providing peace of mind and it’s this peace of mind that helps residents to flourish within their own capabilities; exploring new interests and making new friends and still having the choice of privacy within their own individually decorated, private room which we actively encourage to be their home from home environment.

No matter what type of care a resident is in need of; their key worker (with the help of the resident / relative / social worker) will create a care plan which specifies, in detail, the needs of the resident. These needs can include physical, social, emotional, cultural as well as spiritual needs so that all staff are then aware of and can understand the resident’s needs, preferences and choices. The care plan can then be updated as and when required and a formal review of a resident’s progress will also take place.

To all the Staff at Meadowbrook Manor, thank you so much to all the wonderful staff at Meadowbrook Manor. When we were advised Dad needed twenty-four hour care we had to make difficult choices. You were so kind and helpful to Dad and ourselves that we felt part of an extended family; always welcome day or night, tea on tap: anything to help.

Knowing Dad was safe, secure and well cared for helped us so much. We will never forget last Christmas when you wined, dined and entertained all the residents and their families (about 70 people). You all worked so hard and put on a Christmas dinner better than many a restaurant. We can never thank you enough dor the kindness, help and support given to Dad and all of us in Dad’s final hours.
